The Maricopa Veteran Care Center project has been lucky enough to receive a grant to provide free PTSD therapy to the community of Maricopa Arizona from Local First Arizona (localfirstaz.com). Maricopa is a growing community with a high population of retired veterans. PTSD continues to be an issue worldwide and needs to be addressed city-by-city and state-by-state.
Local Arizona First was founded in 2003. The Local nonprofit organization is "committed to community and economic development throughout Arizona. " Their work connects people, locally owned businesses, and communities for meaningful actions that build a diverse, inclusive, and prosperous Arizona economy.
Kent and Chrystal O'Jon Founder/Owners of VA Health & Wellness Center of AZ, is registered with the AZ Corp Commission with an international 5013c Status. Maricopa Veteran Care Center submitted their company information to the Local First staff, who carefully and professionally explained what the program did., and their options were. They were always available to answer questions, via phone and email, which alleviated a lot of fear of the unknown. Their care and expertise made the entire process enjoyable.
As a result of working with Local First, Maricopa Veteran Care Center was able to use their grant dollars to provide help to Veterans via a local therapist and her network to provide FREE PTSD Therapy to suffering families.
